Matt Blunt comments on Obama “truth squad” threats. (updated)
Governor Matt Blunt released a statement today noting the abuse and the attempts at abuse of Missouri Law to intimidate freedom of speech via “truth squads” consisting of prosecutors and law enforcement officials.
“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.
Whats worse is that this is a pattern for Obama. Earlier this year they requested the United States Justice Department investigate and organization it did not like and more recently has mailed cease and desist orders to various stations running the current NRA advertisement.
Of course it is mind blowing that you few organizations have not mentioned this and beyond Drudge report, no one has reported on this matter. That should make people think twice about what they are hearing about Senator Obama on the news.
It should also make people think twice before voting for him. Ask your self what will happen with the House of Representatives and United States Senate behind him.
Update: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is trying to do damage control for team Obama by claiming the Obama “truth squad” is no different that any other type which campaigns run. Of course Jo Mannies left out the television report which specifically spelled out that the Obama campaign was seeking legal action/targeting of anyone who “told lies” about Obama.
I decided to post a comment on the matter, not sure if it will do any good at this point.

I just came over to see if you were on this yet and you did not disappoint. Mind blowing is the term I was looking for. I do not blog a lot, but I could not pass this one up. Check it at kirkhall.com and let me know if I might be under investigation yet.
