Drudge Report: David Zucker produces “hot” advertisement, GOP operatives refuse to use it.
Drudge report posted an advertisement created by Scarey Movie 4 Producer David Zucker.
Matt Drudge reports that the advertisement (which is absolutely hillarious) is considered “hot” by many Republican strategist and that no one thought that Zucker would believe the film was usable. Drudge’s source says that the movie makes a good point “but it’s way over the top.”
I can agree with that to a point since it shows Maddie Albright cheer leading Kim Jong Il, changing the tire of a terrorist and painting the walls of Bin- Laden’s cave.
However, it is this kind of satire which reaches my age group and younger best. There is more understandable substance illustrated in this minute and a half film than in twenty minutes of typical advertising and speeches by President Bush.
If I were someone in Washington, I would know my audience a little better and understand what makes people tick. Why do you think so many people of my age and younger get their news from the Daily show? Its satire mixed with fact. This movie does that very well.
So, over the top? Yeah, sorta. Washington strategist should understand that this sort of satire strikes a chord with younger voters who aren’t as stiff necked as their parents.
The idea is great and it reaches a segement of the voting population who needs to be spoken to. I would ask Zucker to retool the video, not trash it.
Update: Hot Air points to another Zucker Advertisement he did for the Club for Growth 527 group. It is dead funny as well.
Update: YouTube has now marked the content as “objectionable.” Typical left wing types.
