Wut? LAWL. Rather: TANG story on Bush still accurate.

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

I cannot believe this. Ma, break out the economy size tin foil packages. We are going to need quite a bit to give to Dan Rather while he tries to sell his case to the judge.

According to NRO Dan Rather still maintains that the fully discredited Texas Air National Gaurd story (you know, the one which ran in tandum with an antiBush DNC advertisement) was accurate and that CBS executives forced him to apologize and then fired him to curry favor with the Bush White House.

What ever.

Never mind the documents were forgeries - typed on a computer and printed out in such a manner that anyone could reproduce the EXACT letter, complete with font style and spacing.

Never mind that the person who brought up the story (Mary Mapes) seemingly had an axe to grind with the Bush administration as did one of the sources.

It would be even more funny if CBS wasn’t being sued for nearly seventy million dollars.

Fake, but accurate, right Mr. Rather?

Never fear, I am sure a number of your collegues live by that motto each and every day to your honor, if not with the same intent and motivation with which you published the first story.

Spooky:RFID tags for people.

Saturday, January 13th, 2007

So you want to put a chip in your pet? Sounds great, we can do that. No worries.

What about a human being? Well some individuals believe its great!

Businessweek is reporting an increasing number of individuals and companies opening which cater to implanting RFID tags within people.

Thats right, that means there are now companies who are ready to implant you with a rice sized chip which could eventually contain your medical records and who knows what else.

Spooky.

Why is Google doing web searches for Claire McCaskill?

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Well, during a normal maintenance run I noticed someone doing the following search: http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?hl=en&client=news&q=Claire+McCaskill&ie=ISO-8859-1&scoring=d. Nothing too out of the ordinary. In fact my blog recieved a lot of hits from that search string during the election cycle. What was not normal but this particular string is its ip address.

Through checking the server logs and various tools I was able to track the search string and it led to Google. Mind you this was not a bot. I know what a bot looks like in the logs and this was no bot. I also tried to replicate the experiment using my home computer and it did not turn up the way ths particular vistor did.

What Google was doing searching for Claire McCaskill I am not sure. Maybe they were looking to scrub conservative commentary from their database. (just kidding folks, but you never know)

Either way it was kind of interesting.

The Successes Libs Won’t Admit

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

We can all almost recite verbatim all the “failures” that are crammed down our throat daily, especially with the elections coming up. As a soldier, I’m supposed to be dumb and can’t win wars if you listen to anything people say. Well, you’ve come to the right place for good news: (more…)

KOLR10 and Missouri State University host antiwar/anti Bush bash and labels it as “discussion.”

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

KOLR10 ran a very nausiating “special” tonight which ran from six to seven p.m. tonight. They labeled the event “The War on Terror: Are We Winning?” a “town hall discussion.”

The reality is program was nothing but a left wing kook program put on by Missouri State University. All four “expert” panel members were not just against the war, but were highly charged antiwar activist.

They included a retired Army Colonel, a “peace mom” who has a son who is a marine and in theatre, Dr. Abrahami of Missouri State University and former CIA analyst Ray Mc Govern.

At every single turn they got they hyped conspiracy theories that Bush started the war to get into office to completely lieing about the recently released National Intellegence Estimate and other facts, like Saddam Huessain funded terrorist before the invasion.

I had psuedo respect for Abrahami. I believe he is sincere and is trying to fight the war on terror in his own way, however he commented that Hamas and Hezbollah were not “considered terrorist” in the middle east. Keep in mind the military wing of Hamas are the ones responsible for homicide bombers in Isreal. Hezbollah was responsible for the Kobar towers (1998) and bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebenon (1983).

Likewise, the colonel was at least honorable in noting that Bush believed he was doing the right thing, he was just all messed up in the approach.

However, Ray Mc Govern was an outright antisemite who continued to rail on Isreal and its “injustices” and continually lied about facts. He said that Saddam did not support terrorism and refused to talk about the entire NIE. Instead he just read the hacked aparat quote.

The peace mom wasnt much better. She subscribed to the fact that Bush created the war for political purposes and a few other tin foil theories.

In the end, I am not so much opposed to letting people discuss these issues. However, with an election that is close here in Missouri it is nausiating to see the University and KOLR10 essentially give a full our to extreme antiwar elements within our society and label their findings as “fact.”

There was no balance, no effort to challenge these individuals. Instead what we got was a full hour infomercial for defeatocrats and left wing kooks. I wonder if KOLR10 would be willing to donate an hour to people who support the war and to listing the facts about what is going on.

I was right. AP twists NIE report.

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

No, I am not shocked or amazed. Saddened, yes.

In a typical move the Associated Press issued its story regarding the NIE report call it “grim” and saying that it contradicts the administration’s “glass-half-full declarations” among other half truths.

The reality of the document is completely different. It also goes to show why people should read documents and draw their own conclusions. Thank God for the internet.

The thing which sincerly concerns me about the lack of accurate coverage for this document is its assessment that cutting and running will create more jihadist. Not one word in the main stream media is yet to be written about that finding, yet it is a key finding which should matter in the debate.

My guess is that no media outlet will cover that finding because it runs contrary to their agenda.

CNN.com this morning looks like DNC talking point book…

And they wonder why many of us consider their news suspect at best.. Here is a sampling…

Dems: Leaked intel shows U.S. needs new leaders

Clinton gets fiery with Fox on bin Laden

Navarrette: House GOP plan is ‘for dummies’

Retired officers slam Rumsfeld handling of Iraq war

Cheap gas a GOP election plot, bloggers say

And they wonder why many of us believe they are biased? This is an all out effort to try and throw as much bad stuff on Republicans to see if it will stick. Gotta love the “Cheap gas a GOP election plot, bloggers say” headline.

This whole Bin Laden is dead thing..

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

Well, I am not quite sure what to think. I honestly will not believe a report that he is dead until we get a body, but the chances of that happening are slim to none.

One of the odd observations by some of the “experts” you see on television is that since there are no mourning postings on websites, then he must be alive! Similarly, the last reporter to talk to Bin Laden claims that he must be alive because some of the Al Qeada agents told him so.

At this point no one is offering proof either way so I dont know what to believe.

What I do believe is that Al Qeada would not want us to know on one level because it would be a symbolic victory. Just as Hezbolla’s recent “victory” was just living through the recent Isreali bombings.

I also believe that Al Qeada’s number two man, Zarwahiri just might want the word to believe Bin Laden is still alive, but take control just so what little of his command structure would stay intact. Why is it important?

Well, listening to one of the guys who was on Fox Weekend Live, he said that apparently there is some sort of split between many of the Al Qeada operatives who are from Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Zarwahiri who is from Egypt.

If I was Zarwahiri I would want everyone to think Bin Laden was dead as well, just so I could keep command and control without question.

Then we have the air strike that didnt happen. Could it have been a ceremony for Bin Laden? Dunno. It would make sense for the CIA and our forces to track people back from the ceremony to try and get intellegence.

In the end, though, it is all speculation. What is important is our continued efforts to thwart terrorist attacks take the fight to the enemy.

KY3 Gobbles up KSPR33.

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Found this bit of interesting news today. It looks like KY3 and some place called Perkin Media will be purchasing KSPR33. Why is this important? Well, it means that Schurz Communications owns KY3 (NBC), UPN15 (now called the CW) and KSPR33 (ABC). In the mean time you have KOLR10 (CBS) and KDEB27 (FOX) together. That leaves MY31 on its own, lonesome self.

The irony is that many of the employees at KY3 were from KSPR33. Or at least they were during my tenure.

I am not sure what the consequences are regarding how the news is reported. I would say that things might improve, but based on what I read on their political blog I would say no.

I should note that I still do have some friends over at KY. I need to give them a ring and see what they think some time.

Props to Rangel and Pelosi.

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Normally I would expect  Rangel and Pelosi, to be slapping Chavez on the back for calling President Bush “the Devil” and railing against American policies which they have agreed with him on in the past.

However, I am surprised to see that they are Americans first and seem to be offended by his statements today and Yesterday. Their responses are here and here.

Do I expect either one of those two to support a single policy of the Bush administration? No. I would like to believe that they do have some dignity and understanding of who George W. Bush the person is, though. He is most certainly not the Devil or the antiChrist as some on the left would believe.

I believe Rangel was being truthful in his rebuke. I may not agree with him on a single issue, but I do have a great deal of respect for Congressman Rangel.

I do wonder aloud if what Pelosi is saying is in an effort to stave off any sort of “global test/interference” backlash which hit during the 2004 election cycle when John Kerry talked about discussing things with “foriegn leaders.” I hope not.

I will give her the benefit of the doubt, though.

Update: This is what I was expecting to hear from Democrats. In this case, Iowa Senator Tom Harkin.
